About Shoplyft South Africa (PTY) Ltd
At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, people all across the world were placed into lockdown and online shopping became a necessity for businesses if they were to thrive in this new world. Many hard-working people lost their livelihoods and the economy plummeted because of the unavailability of the necessary technological skills need to drive businesses to the utilisation of e-commerce. This was especially true in South Africa and it was because of this need that we established Shoplyft South Africa.
Shoplyft was established as an online marketplace where business owners and start-ups all around South Africa could come together on a singular online platform and showcase their products to customers without the need to understand web design, SEO, marketing and other facets that help online businesses thrive.
Just like a shopping mall, each store has its own specific rules and policies following the guidelines provided by Shoplyft for the mutual benefit of both the seller and consumer. Our company seeks to provide a fair marketplace where our registered vendors can market their brand freely.
For every transaction, Shoplyft charges vendors a small sales fee used to pay for operational expenses such as payment gateways, as well as promotion and further development of the business itself.
1.5% of all sales fees acquired from each product sold, will be used to fund a non-profit organisation called “Givers of Good”
The initialisation of the enterprise “Givers of Good” mentioned, was founded by the same founding directors of Shoplyft South Africa as a Social Enterprise to fund the organisation. The vision and goal of “Givers of Good” are to promote upright and beneficial activities within the community, such as helping those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, feeding the poor, sick and needy, aiding and empowering women and children who have been victims of any forms of abuse, drug addiction, youth development, community wellbeing, as well as any further attainment of achieving good outcomes.
More information can be found on the organisation’s Website. All financial dealings in this regard will be available on the public record so as not to entertain the thoughts or premise of financial corruption or furthering the material gains of Shoplyft or its representatives. The primary motivation for the establishment of the company and the platform is not at all based on deriving financial gains but rather as a Social Enterprise and a marketplace where business can be conducted fairly to all parties.
A Social Enterprise is an organization that applies commercial strategies to maximize improvements in financial, social and environmental well-being—this may include maximizing social impact alongside profits for co-owners. The vision of an infinite mindset working in tandem to further a just cause would be the driving factor for the prospect of success in a capitalistic world made up of the finite minded.
